A couple weeks ago, Mrs. Clark’s seventh period Honors Science class went on a field trip to multiple locations in West Virginia, and Maryland.

The class got to see major landmarks such as Coopers Rock, Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, Smoke Hole Caverns, and Seneca Rocks. The class learned about the military at the Top Kick’s Military Museum.

Rain clouds didn’t stop these thriving students from absorbing information. “It was really nice learning outside the classroom.” Savannah Soltesz says about the trip.

The classmates got closer and had a great time. “I had a great time learning new things with my classmates, who I got to know better.” Lakyn Groves exclaims.

The trip came to life when several years ago when Mr. Fitzsimmons was told by a student the West Virginia was made from glaciers. The trip has happened for over twenty years. Mr. Fitzsimmons knew that the students needed this trip after that remark. He makes a reservation for the students to stay in a house several months before the actual trip.

Mrs. Clark, the science teacher, said her favorite place to go on the trip is the military museum because it’s different every time.

Special thanks to Mr. Mark Fitzsimmons, Mr. Steve Mitch, Mrs. Clark, and Mr. Gerald Bland for teaching with so much passion for the subject.
